Introduction: How to Create Belief & Commitment

This month we’re starting to create the emotions of belief, commitment, and confidence.

When we’re able to imagine the life that we desire and feel it deep within our bones, we are able to create such a strong belief that our success is inevitable. It’s like placing an order for weight loss on Amazon. All we have to do is wait for it to arrive in the mail. And when it does, we ask, “what took you so long?”

When we have such deep conviction in our commitment to ourselves and believe that our success is inevitable, it will happen.


All right, so welcome to week 13. Can you believe we are halfway through this program? Feels like we just started, but we’ve gone through so much incredible material. Now, I have an extra video this week and what that is, is it’s the mid program check-in. And so, what I want to do is I just want to see, like, how are things going with you?

It’s a really good time to think about like, how am I doing as far as what I expected I would be doing? And if I had to do everything over again, what would I do differently? And then, we have the opportunity to do that right now. Okay? So, that’s one of the videos that you have.

Another thing is it’s a new month and so therefore we have a new focus and this month, what we’re going to be talking about is belief and commitment. And here’s why it’s so important that we’re talking about this is because when we’re talking about making changes, one of the reasons that we give up is because we don’t necessarily believe that it’s possible. And so, what we want to explore this month is, what contributes to belief? What do I need to do in order to believe more?

And when I don’t feel like I’m 100% committed to the process, why not? What’s going on? And so, we can’t talk about belief and commitment without talking about failure. And what we make it mean? So, that’s all going to be addressed this month. Really important months in order to move forward.

Now, the other piece that we’re going to be talking about on the behavior track. What we’re going to talk about there is creating something called a protocol. Now, up until this point, we have been talking about behaviors, right? We’ve been talking about adding water. We’ve been talking about adding vegetable, eating protein, minimizing starches, and managing our stress, and things like that.

Now, what a protocol is, and I’ll explain more in the video, but what a protocol is, is it’s like a food uniform. And it doesn’t have to be that boring, but it’s kind of like setting up a plan for yourself as to, how many servings of each of these things you want to be eating? Now, here’s the thing is the protocol that you create today might look different than the protocol that you create in six months, in a year, in two years.

Start with where you are and decide again, we’ve talked about, what treats are? So, where do treats fit in? And again, all of this is being done from a place of thinking about your highest self? Not trying to be perfect. Okay? Creating a protocol is what we’re going to be doing this entire month and then, how we’re going to implement that is actually through deciding ahead of time 24 hours in advance, what we’re going to eat the following week?

And so, what this is going to do is it’s going to start the process of self-trust around treats, and around hyper palatable foods, and all of those things that currently you don’t trust yourself with. And then, in our last module in module six, we’re actually going to be talking about self-trust more.

So, be aware that what we’re talking about in this month, we’re going to be talking about or we’ve already talked somewhat about in past months, but we’re revisiting it. And then, we’re also going to be carrying these things, these themes, through in future months as well. Okay?

Now, as far as belief in commitment goes this week, we’re going to be talking about what’s called the future version of yourself. I really want you to think about that, we’ve already been doing some work as far as creating the vision of our future selves. And so, we’re going to get a little bit more refined in that. Or if you didn’t really know what that was going to look like in month two, then in month four, we can revisit it and start to get a little bit more refined. All right?
